I will show you step by step how to create your own outdoor website. Actually this applies for any type of website but since we generally talk about the outdoors here I will use that as an example. This will be a multi part series so you don’t get too overwhelmed.

Note: I will make this as easy as possible! Leave a comment below if you have any questions, I will respond very quickly.

Requirements

Here are the two things you must have for publishing a site.

  • A Domain Name
  • Website Hosting

Expected Costs

This is what can be expected cost wise for getting your site setup.

  • Domain Name = $7.99
  • Web Hosting = 1 cent first month and $9.99 each month after

A domain name is exactly what it says. It is a name for your website. For example my sites name is DeerHuntingRush.com.

To acquire your domain you must register it at a domain registrar. I register most all of my domains at GoDaddy.com and the process is fairly simple. The cost of a .com domain is $12.99 per year. If this is your first time to get a domain then there are some great coupon codes to save a lot of money.

Once you have registered your name you will need a web hosting provider that will host your domain and all of your files for your website. You might be wondering well how in the world do I do that?!

I host all of my sites with Host Gator. I have found that it is one of the most affordable and trust worthy hosting companies. It is also very user friendly for people who aren’t as tech savvy as others. You can try HostGator for 1 cent! That’s right, for only a penny you can try it out and see if it’s right for you.

By now you should have two things in check.

1. You should have your domain name purchased. YourDomainName.com

2. You should have your web hosting account purchased and setup through HostGator or whatever host you chose.

I will follow up with the next step in a later post!
