At first when I saw this new grunt call from Flextone called the Ground Grunt’r I thought it was a joke. I mean, seriously. I was watching a hunting show and a commercial came on with these guys in a tree stand and one of them has what looked like to be a long tube rolled up with some sort of contraption on the end of it which ended up being the grunt call. Then all of a sudden you just see him drop it down to the ground while still holding the tube and he gives the tube a few blows to make a grunt sound!

But it’s not a joke! I’m not too sure what to think of it. I mean, I’m sure it will sell and generally Flextone makes some pretty good calls. With a price tag of $27.99 it might be worth a try. This product is NOW available and you can purchase it through Amazon from the link above.

The magic behind the call is all about producing a realistic grunt sound that actually comes from the ground instead of from a tree. I guess if a deer is close enough he would be able to tell the height of a grunt call, but from far away I’m not too sure if it would make that big of a difference.

Here, this video might explain it a little bit better.

Thanks for this article. I am actually the inventor of the Flextone Ground Grunt’R, and am excited that they have picked it up and selling it EVERYWHERE this fall. You are right – in that it does not replace the typical grunt call you need when just basically trying to attract deer that are not near your stand… This call was invented out of the necessity to bring the buck in closer without attracting attention UP to your treestand location.

I’ve been so frustrated in having deer look UP at me – and this solves the problem. We’ve tested it to over 100′ – so it would be ideal to use in a ground blind out near a deer decoy as well. One main thing we are trying to communicate is that although it may sound weird hauling a 30′ hose to your stand – IT WORKS BEST when you set it up when you set up your stand. Leave the hose there – attached at the top and bottom of the tree – and unscrew the Ground Grunt’R chamber and take it with you. Install other hoses (sold separately) at all hunting locations and use the same Grunting chamber at all locations.

Again – thanks for your article. The Ground Grunt’R is available at many Walmart stores, Academy, Dicks, Scheels and etc… This is becoming a dream come true – to see something I’ve worked on for years come to life. Have a great day,

I just purchased two of your calls for my husband and his brother, where can I order the extra tubes? I’ve been looking online and haven’t had luck finding them. Thank you!! šŸ™‚
Also, congratulations on inventing such a great new product, my husband saw it on TV while watching his hunting shows and he fell in love with it, the past two years he hasn’t gotten one deer because they always look up, so I’m crossing my fingers that this will turn his luck around!

Flextone should offer the extension hoses next year. If I were you I would go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy a 3/8″ vinyl hose… They may sell the adapters that will let you connect the two. If not, I have some and would mail you one at no charge. Let me know if you have any more questions.
